Frequently asked questions
Does domain age affect rankings?
On its own, hardly at all. Google has said outright that age isn't a ranking factor. What age correlates with is what a site accumulates over years — links, content, brand searches — and those do matter. An old, empty site won't outrank a new, useful one.
Where does the data come from?
RDAP — the registry protocol replacing WHOIS. Queries go straight to the registry that manages the domain: no third-party data source and no extra cost.
Why do some domains return no registration data?
Some country-code TLDs don't publish RDAP records, and some registries withhold dates. The tool marks those rows honestly instead of guessing; the other domains in your list still come back normally.
Is domain age the same as site age?
No. Age counts from the domain's first registration. A domain can sit parked for years, or change hands and start over with new content. Check what it ranks for today before drawing conclusions.
